What I Read: Fahrenheit 451
Pages: 3-21 (to the point where he walks out of the house into the rain)
Thoughts: Ray Bradbury has a very odd writing style: lengthy sentences, but ultimately rewarding for the reader. It’s kind of like sewing, he decides how long he wants a row to be and what type of stitching he’ll use and then he does it. But, he manages to make it all flow and come out like an annoyingly perfect sweater that your overachiever, type A personality BFF makes while pulling an all nighter.
I wonder why he divided the book into three parts instead of using chapters. I guess I’ll find that out later.
My all black, seventeen pound cat named Moe is sitting on me. I love reading with a nice layer of blankets and a warm, fat muttucks sleeping on my lap.
The girl, Clarisse is quite interesting. I wonder what’s the deal with the wife. Why does the author refer to the main character as Montag instead of Guy?
Will we learn more about Clarisse and her family?
Why are they burning books?
What time period is this set in and what location? Does this matter?
I must read more later. And work on my ADD issues so I can read for longer periods of time at once.
To be continued tomorrow….
